Welcome to the Tri Preston Website

Welcome to Preston Triathlon Club more affectionately known as Tri Preston. The club was formed in 1997 and has grown over the years to its current membership of around 70 members. Whether you want to do sprint races or Ironman distance, we at the club aim to support you in achieving your goals. We cater for a wide range of abilities from elite to complete beginners so whatever your level we are sure you will find something to suit you.

If you are interested in joining us, the club meets at 6:30pm on the 3rd Sunday of every month at South Ribble Tennis Centre, Cuerden Way, Bamber Bridge, Preston, Lancashire PR5 6BJ.

Upcoming Events -
Sunday 14th February 2010, Blackburn Winter Warmer 10k, Witton Park, Blackburn at 11:00am.
Sunday 14th February 2010, 9:30am start, Winter Duathlon Series Race 3 (3m/10m/3m), Rainford, St Helens. The events are informal and the format includes a break between each of the disciplines. Following the initial 3 mile run, competitors complete a 10 mile cycle time trial starting at 20 second intervals. Upon completion of the cycle time trial all of the competitors line up to 'mass start' the final 3 mile run. The time gaps between disciplines allow competitors to change clothing and combat the cold weather during the cycle section!!

Chirk Tri is full - already!

As of Friday 13th November, Chirk Triathlon is already full. Following on from the rapid sell-out of the Keswick Mountain Festval Olympic distance race, this early season Sprint Triathlon has filled up in record time. Entries for the Cheshire Cat cyclosportive on Sunday 28th March are also going fast with over 700 places already gone. Book your place now to be part of the 2010 season opener.

Nicola King 12:44:49

Craig Alexander joined an exclusive group of four men that have retained the Ford Ironman World Championship, Chrissie Wellington broke Paula Newby-Fraser's course record in winning three in a row but better than that Tri Preston's Nicola King finished in an amazing 12:44:49 with a 1:14:07 2.4 mile swim, 6:42:53 112 mile bike and 4:39:09 Marathon in temperatures of 95 degrees Fahrenheit in Kona. Four on the trot

The TiPi Indians team of Martyn Cooper, Martin Kerry and Steve Snape retained the Fleetwod Triathlon team award for the fourth year on the trot (albeit in the former guise of St Annes Triathlon). With 3 finishers in the top ten the TiPi Indians combined time of 2:56:54 emphatically won over the Ashurst Bike Club in 2nd place (3:08:37). (more...)
