Open Water Swims

The club runs an open water swim weekly at the Blackpool wake park throughout the summer (May to September). The swim is every Thursday; you must arrive in time for the safety brief at 7pm to be able to swim. Cost is £5 for club members and members of affiliated clubs and £7 for non-members. Wetsuits and swim hats are compulsory. There are changing facilties and showers on site and a café.

Due to the geographical nature of the club most pool swimming is done at Total Fitness or Virgin active gyms. There are currently no formal sessions run but we hope to change this in the near future. If you are a member at one of these clubs then just contact us and we can put you in touch with members who swim there.

Cycling

Group Rides

The club runs a bike ride every Saturday morning. The rides depart at 9.30a.m. from either Preston Sports Arena or Hewitts Cycles, Leyland.

If you want to come on a ride please check the training plan for details of distance and location. Most abilities can be catered for.

Running

Group Runs

Throughout the summer there is a 5km race run once a fortnight on a Wednesday from the main car park in Haslam Park.

Through the winter there are usually two sessions on offer;

There is an interval run at Preston Docks each Wednesday evening. The structure of this session makes it suitable for both beginners and experienced runners. We meet at 7pm in the Car park in front of Bensons for beds near the Ribble Pilot Pub.

We also run trail runs on a Sunday morning from Rivington Great Barn, Rivington. Locations and times can vary so you should check the events page or noticeboard for details.

Coached & Combined Sessions

Coached Training

There are a variety of brick sessions (combined training of cycling/running) run by the club. These are run on a Wednesday evening at 7pm at Preston Sports Arena. They take place once a fortnight on the opposite weeks to the 5km race.

There are also coached sessions run by our Level 3 Coach Ian Murphy, these are also based at the Preston Sports Arena and usually run once a month on a Saturday, you should check the training plan for details.
